About Sara Wells
Sara grew up loving movement and exploring the body in all its capacities. She trained in ballet, jazz, flamenco, and modern dance in her early and teenage years. Sara obtained her BFA at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, specializing in photography. Here, she spent most of her time showcasing figurative portraits.
She has worked in BC Film and Television as a Scenic Artist and Forewoman, for over 20 years. While working in a high-stress environment, Sara saw the need for human connection and how stress, unresolved injury, and traumas play key roles in our bodies.
Sara began her Hatha Yoga teacher training in 2007, with Julia Shields, one year after having her son Finnley, with over 400-hour E-RYT courses which included and delved into more and more training in Pilates, Yoga Nidra, Yin Yoga, Vinyasa, pre & postnatal, TRX, Aerial Yoga and Reiki, nervous system and womb work. Additional courses include: Mandy Sheen’s Womb Healing ‘Our Journey Home’, including Nicole Lohse: Nervous System workshop, and Jasmine Rose: Womb Workshop in 2021
Sara gave birth to her daughter Livia in 2009. In 2015, Sara suffered a transformative concussion which slowed down her family life, yoga teaching, and practice. She shifted to refocusing, reframing, and recovering through slower modalities and gentle practices. In recent years, Sara has studied with her meditation teacher, Patricia Sheen, allowing her to come deeper into alignment with source energy. Mentoring with Cielo English in additional meditations and practices.
In 2022 Sara began her CranioSacral Therapy (CST) training with Kari Toft. She has studied over 170 hours, including Levels 1-4; 1. Foundations, 2. Expansion, 3. SomatoEmotional Release, and 4. The Brain with Kari Toft. The Enlightened Bodyworker course with Kari Toft and Jamie Lee Mock. Visceral Manipulation, and a Mentorship Program with Kari Toft.
With a listening touch, Sara takes a whole-person approach to working with the nervous system. She provides space for people to relieve tension, alleviate pain, ease emotional stress, improve mental clarity, and heal. Sara brings a neutral, experiential, compassionate, and grounded approach to her practice. CranioSacral Therapy is gentle in nature and an anatomically accurate modality, which may pinpoint the root of an issue and leave the client with a deep sense of calm and connectedness.
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
